Goodwest Invests in a Graco Extreme Plural Component Pump
May 10, 2009 RANCHO CUCAMONGA Calif. — Goodwest Rubber Linings has purchased a Graco Extreme Plural Component Pump. This pump allows Goodwest to efficiently apply the latest technology in coating material.
The plural component pump keeps the components of the coating material separate until it's ready to be applied. It mixes an activator and a base just before the spray gun that forms quickly to the applied surface. The coating material is heated within in-line heaters, then the pump uses static mixers to mix the material and automatically proportions it, allowing for the proper ratio of A to B.
A benefit of using the Graco pump is that there are no solvents or VOCs within the coating composition of the materials sprayed. This means it's environmentally friendly and therefore safe to use in confined spaces. Another benefit of this pump is it will apply all of the necessary coating in one monolithic coat, saving time during the application process.
"The Graco pump allows us to apply a 100% epoxy system. This equipment is very technically advanced and has elevated Goodwest to a level of a premier applicator," said Fred Ledesma, Operations Manager at Goodwest.
Ledesma continued, "Previously our clients had to use multiple vendors to apply coatings at their facility; now Goodwest can assist them with all of their coating needs quickly and effectively."
